Spicy Carbonara

Onion (Red) | Peeled and finely chopped |
Garlic Cloves | Peel and chop or slice finely |
Streaky Bacon 250g | Cut into 1.5cm lengths |
Chilli Flakes | |
Cream | Use half a bottle |
Parmesan Grated | |
Parsley | Finely chop |
Lemons | Use the zest of half a lemon |
Method
As individual cuts may vary in shape/size, please check that they are cooked and seasoned to your liking, ahead of serving.
Step 1 12 mins | Place a large pot of water on to heat and bring to the boil. Cook the spaghetti according to packet instructions. |

Step 2 5 mins | While the pasta is cooking heat a little olive oil and cook the onion and garlic for 2 minutes until softened. Add the bacon and cook for 2 minutes before adding the chilli flakes. Mix well. |
Step 3 2 mins | In a bowl beat the eggs with the cream and grated parmesan, salt and pepper. |
Step 4 3 mins | Drain the pasta well and place in the frypan on top of the bacon. Pour over the cream and egg mix and, using tongs, mix through the spaghetti and bacon. |
Step 5 | Add the parsley and lemon zest and mix well. Serve immediately. |
